The Physiotherapist provides services in a manner consistent with HDH Mission, Vision and Values and that reflect the core values of Patient and Family Centred Care (dignity, respect, information sharing, participation, and collaboration);
practices in accordance with the standards of professional practice and ethical values as defined by the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario;
works as a member of an interdisciplinary team : consults and communicates effectively with professionals, support personnel and other community agencies;
advises on best evidence-based practices and ensures that the rehabilitation and assessment services are scientifically based and grounded in current research in the field of physiotherapy practice, and participates in hospital-
wide activities and programs that model and promote a safe and healthy patient-centred environment and that contribute to quality improvement and risk management initiatives.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Baccalaureate Degree in Physiotherapy
Active unrestricted license with the College of Physiotherapy of Ontario
Current BCLS the Health Care Provider Level
Current Criminal Reference Check (CRC) that includes a Vulnerable Sector Search administered by the Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC)
Recent related clinical experience working within a cardiac population
Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, time management skills
Ability to function independently and as part of a team.
Willingness to work a flexible shift schedule to meet the needs and timelines of the Physiotherapy Department
Experience with Hospital Information Systems, Microsoft Office and Workload Measurement.
Proven good attendance record.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS :
5 years’ experience working in an cardiac program
Post graduate or continuing education courses related to physiotherapy
Proficiency in speaking and comprehending both English and French
