    In this role, you will :

  • Be responsible to the Executive for the strategic oversight and leadership of all aspects of aircraft engineering and maintenance carried out by Babcock Canada’s Aviation business
  • Develop annual business plans, to include specific, measureable objectives, targets and initiatives to support the efficient delivery of the aviation business results and strategy in Canada
  • Ensure an effective and efficient business model through financial management of departmental budgets
  • Lead the engineering and maintenance teams through departmental managers, nurture and mentor talent to develop robust succession plans and lead by example, a positive and proactive safety culture within the team.
  • Establish and modify maintenance policies, processes and procedures as required to optimise the service delivery and drive continuous improvement across the department.
  • Build relationships based on trust with customers, industry, institutions and academia within the Canadian Aviation market
  • Build a collaborative peer network across Babcock’s global businesses to ensure best practice is shared and implemented within Babcock Canada
  • Play a key role in business development activities in expanding Babcock’s Aviation footprint in Canada in the defence and aerospace markets.
  • Lead and deliver future contract mobilisation plans
  • The ideal candidate brings :

  • You have a minimum of 15 years’ of experience in a related position
  • You have a minimum of 8 years’ experience in management / leadership roles.
  • You hold a post-secondary education in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering, Engineering or a related field
  • You are an experienced, dynamic individual possessing the skills and attitude required to deliver exceptional services to the customer and deliver significant growth for Babcock Canada
  • Ideally you will have a background in civilian or military aviation engineering or in service support, and a comprehensive understanding of Transport Canada regulations and be able to hold the role of Person Responsible for Maintenance
  • You will have exceptional verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to build long lasting and profitable business relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • You have are autonomous, with the desire to grow your capabilities to meet future business needs
  • You have worked for a large or international organization with an understanding of a matrix organization
  • You are a proven exemplary leader
  • Proof that you are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, meaning that you must have received the full series of a COVID-19 vaccine approved by the Government of Canada with the final dose at least 14 days prior to your start date
  • You are eligible for a Canadian Secret Security clearance
