What does this role look like?

The Aquatic Fitness Instructor will lead fun and safe classes for YMCA members. All instructors are responsible for keeping up to date with certifications and Continuing Education Credits.

Instructors are expected to bring their knowledge and positive attitude to each class they teach.

Aquatic Fitness Instructors will :

  • Demonstrate exceptional customer service
  • Are knowledgeable of YMCA programs and services
  • Keep pool area clean and organized
  • Work as a team; communicate effectively with staff, volunteers and members in all situations.
  • Attend all scheduled in-services
  • Attend all necessary YMCA training
  • What qualifications are we looking for?

    At YMCA Calgary we ensure our volunteers are a fit based on their strengths, interests, and future goals. The successful candidate will have the following :

  • Aquatic Fitness Certification
  • Current CPR C Certification
  • Evidence of a clear Police Information Check and Vulnerable Sector Search
  • Three professional references
  • Time Commitment :

  • Minimum time commitment is one class per week. This includes arriving 15 minutes prior to class and staying 15 minutes after to clean and tidy.
  • Shawnessy YMCA is looking for instructors specifically on Tuesday’s 8 : 30am-9 : 15am and alternating Thursday’s from 8 : 30am-9 : 15am.
  • Remington YMCA is looking for instructors for a variety of dates / times
