iPSS inc. is a leading IT Security Solutions integrator located in Ottawa. We are looking for a motivated, energetic, and personable Director of Operations to join our dynamic team.
Reporting to the company President, as the Director of Operations, your primary role will be to direct, promote, and coordinate the operations of the company’s business in a manner that will optimize the company’s growth, efficiency, and profitability.
Responsibilities :
Recruitment and contracting of full-time employees and consultants
Oversee company financial management including banking, payroll and benefits management for main and associated companies
Oversee and assist the proposal team with RFP / RFQ technical and financial responses to grow company procurement vehicles
Oversee existing products and services contracts and lead contract negotiations with new OEM / vendor partners (including margin and joint venture discussions)
Provide regular updates to upper management regarding overall company performance both quantitatively and qualitatively
Oversee ongoing employee development and training
Ensure OEM / vendor partnership level requirements are met and maintained
Establish, maintain and grow partnerships with key OEM / vendors to ensure long-term, strategic partnerships
Lead and partake in the project / contract management of existing and new product / professional services contracts and procurement vehicles
Monitor the company website to ensure it reflects corporate image and updated content
Manage, coach and motivate operational managers and admin support staff
Drive increased efficiencies and profitability while maintaining standard of work quality
Assist in development of forms and tools to increase company efficiency
Ongoing employee relations and performance management
Identify and provide opportunities for employee advancement and development
Ensure company facilities and equipment meet Canadian federal government security requirements associated with maintaining facility and personnel security clearances, as well as all municipal, provincial and federal regulations
Enforce, uphold and development of company policies
Liaise with accounting firms to produce year-end financial statements
Liaise with legal on employment and corporate legal matters
Oversee annual company sales performance, market share and profitability goals
Monitor competition and trends and makes business recommendations for review
Cultivate a positive culture which mirrors trust, hard work and passion
Required Skills and Knowledge :
Strong ability to lead, develop and train / mentor staff
Sound knowledge of accounting principles
Sound knowledge of Canadian employment law
Excellent verbal and communication skills
Strong writing skills
IT Fluency in MS Office and basic accounting software
Strong problem-solving capabilities, strong sense of responsibility and self-motivation, and ability to work in a team environment
Sound knowledge of supply chain management
Strong organization skills
Strives working in a fast paced, dynamic environment
Experience preparing / reviewing government responses to Requests for Proposals
Attention to detail is critical and ability to multi-task is essential
Fluency in French would be an asset
Education and Experience :
10+ years of relevant experience within a similar industry (information technology) including people and office management experience
Strong knowledge of Canadian Federal Government clearances, contracts and procurement processes and vehicles
Bachelor’s level or post-graduate level education preferred within business or a related field
