We have an exciting opportunity within our Strategic Sourcing team as a Category Manager in the IT & Indirect area, reporting to the Director of Strategic Sourcing.
In this role, the successful candidate will be accountable to develop and implement category strategies that reflect business priorities and maximize supplier effectiveness.
Leveraging your exceptional communication skills with senior stakeholders, you will develop and prioritize work plans for your sourcing categories and bring to execution on those plans to deliver incremental service and ongoing savings to the business.
The role will also involve a small level of financial reporting and analysis (10-20%) therefore the successful candidate should have a high level of excel expertise.
What you'll do in the role
Proven experience managing and leading the RFx process, including commercial negotiations with specified supplier(s) across the IT strategic sourcing sector, to ensure that the agreed business objectives and quality standards are delivered on budget.
You are an expert in gathering, analyzing and documenting clear and concise business requirements, functional specifications and service level expectations, ensuring that the delivered contractual solutions meet our priorities and business needs.
You understand the importance of ensuring that proper governance and process is adhered to in our contracting process, continually mitigating potential business risk and work closely with Legal, Risk and / or external counsel to understand and manage risks associated with contracts and ensure compliance with relevant law and regulation.
As a strong negotiator, you will identify, recommend, implement and monitor contractual changes as required in order to ensure costs and services evolve to match changing business needs and priorities.
You are a natural with building and managing relationships with suppliers and cross-functional business units to continually identify and pursue potential supply chain opportunities and benefits.
Your exceptional influencing and communication skills contribute to securing full engagement and sponsorship from senior internal stakeholders and ensure total alignment between category strategy deliverables and business objectives
You bring team spirit and are an active team contributor. You work well with peers, senior leadership and customers sharing expert advice and guidance and coaching in order to enable a stronger partnership and maximize the benefits achievable from good practice and developing optimal insight and understanding of defined supply chain categories
You will be responsible for end to end management of assigned categories, including the category strategy development.
category sourcing plan execution, analytical reporting and projects to optimize value
You will support as needed the regular Savings Tracking and Operational Planning process as well as other ad-hoc excel / power point projects.
This includes supporting the team on RFx Financial Analysis as well as scoring matrices for large projects with multiple vendors in the IT space.
What you'll need
Minimum of 5 years supply chain / procurement experience, including category management roles within an IT strategic Sourcing function
Excellent track record of supplier process development, improvement and relationship management
You bring expertise with contract design and development and proficient in Excel Cost Analysis and Modeling
Superior stakeholder management skills, and the ability to influence at all levels of the business
Truly self-motivated, take ownership professional and continuously demonstrates a sense of urgency. You are a driver of innovation and possess a keen ability to identify benefit generating opportunities.
Excellent listening, documentation, communication and influencing skills with strong commercial negotiation skills
Exposure within a high volume and fast paced environment you will utilize your superior organizational skills; and have the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines
Bachelor’s degree education
Financial Services / Insurance experience (within either a sourcing or business capacity) is an asset
Fully bilingual (French and English) is an asset
