Why is this role important?

The role of the Merchandising Business Process Expert (BPE) is to partner and support the Merchandising team with troubleshooting, coaching, and training SAP and systems involved in their day-to-day activities.

This individual must be a self-motivated, self-starter, possess drive and a passion for learning with strengths in coaching and training.

A key function in the responsibilities of the Merchandising BPE will partake in the development of best practices and tools, providing technical support and guidance to the Merchandising end-user community.

Partnering with IT and various business stakeholders they will work as subject matter experts to develop and improve processes and systems impacting the Merchandising business end-users.

Accountabilities : Test

Test

Review design documents to understand system functionality and testing objectPartner with various business stakeholders and IT ensuring business scenarios and needs are valid, met, and supported by system designs and functionalityWork and partner with various business stakeholders and IT addressing concerns when testing, ensuring success in SIT (Systems Integrated Testing) and UAT (User Acceptance Testing) executionReview and sign off on SIT testing results to ensure SIT has been executed thoroughlyAdvocate and escalate on behalf of business users during business process changes or improvementsLiaise and act as point of contact between Merchandising and IT teams on escalated tickets for fixes and enhancementsExecute, document and sign off UAT

Enable

Maintain and / or build SAP knowledge base as changes or knowledge gaps are identifiedAct as a subject matter expert for Learning & Development training, documents and material as needed for new hire training, merchandising process or system changesDeliver new user training and facilitate SAP new hire developmentReview system access requestsProvide technical support, guidance and coaching on processes and changes to enable end-users

Sustain

Analyze, root cause, and address technical inquiries escalated from the MerchandisingLeverage and analyze user issues, feedback and process changes to improve / update existing Merchandising training materials, process and / or systems.

Identify defects, fixes or enhancement opportunities and escalate to ITAssist with creating incident tickets and follow up with Merchandising / IT if / when requiredEscalate, advocate and follow up on behalf of business users on technical issues and IT tickets Liaise between Merchandising and IT on escalated business matters requiring fixes and enhancementsFacilitate new hire on-boarding and systems navigation trainingCoach end-users in troubleshooting and root causing errors, identify and address knowledge gaps in day-to-day activities, systematic functional data or process gapsProvide central point of contact for Merchandising colleagues on SAP related issues related to various processes and systems functionsCommunicate issue status, system availabilities, changes and business process updates / impacts and communicate to end usersSupport process development, mapping and improvement activitiesAct as subject-matter expert on process change projects

Education & Experience

Post-secondary degree or equivalent2 years equivalent work experienceBasic SAP technical knowledgeDemonstrated in-depth process knowledge within Merchandising is an asset but not a requirement
