SUMMARY

The Director, Strategic Sourcing directs the supply chain management and sourcing functions to achieve business operation effectiveness and value proposition goals.

Sourcing and supply chain management activities are undertaken to ensure effective risk management, overhead cost minimization and control and to ensure that business controls are appropriately designed and implemented.

Sourcing and supply chain management activities are also undertaken to achieve value proposition goals including service cost reduction and control, service quality assurance, sustainability and sourcing of new marketplace capabilities / services to BGIS Canada.

Supporting supply chain and sourcing strategies and action plans are developed in conjunction with the VP, Real Estate Solutions and address client, CBG and product line needs.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Business Operations Effectiveness Participate in the development of supply chain strategies with the VP to provide business operational effectiveness.

Undertake sourcing and supply chain management activities to ensure effective risk management, overhead cost mitigation and control and to ensure that business controls are appropriately designed and implemented.

Implement and continuously improve :

  • Supplier qualification and qualification maintenance processes and systems to manage risk while providing operational needs
  • Change management processes (SLC process) for vendor contracts
  • Supply chain tiered management structures to provide appropriate focus on key suppliers in the most efficient manner
  • Supply chain consolidation strategies to right size BGIS Canada supply chain minimizing risk and maximizing BGIS Canada leverage with suppliers
  • Tactical procurement processes, forms, contracts and field support for direct sourcing by CBG and product line staff.
  • Consolidated contracts tracking and administrative processes & infrastructure
  • A repository of standard T&C’s and contracts used for all contracting
  • Analytics and reporting with respect to goals and supply chain adoption
  • BGIS Canada / Vendor B2B processes to minimize relationship administration costs
  • BGIS Canada Procurement Policy and Processes
  • BGIS Canada Value Proposition Enhancement - Participate in the development of supply chain strategies with the VP and implement plans to achieve BGIS Canada value proposition goals including service cost reduction and control, service quality management / assurance, sustainability and sourcing of new marketplace capabilities / services to BGIS Canada

    Implement and continuously improve :

  • Annual procurement plans to support Product Line & CBG supply chain goals cost savings & quality
  • Annual procurement plans to achieve cross client spend leverage
  • Documented analytics and sourcing plans for key spend categories
  • Strategic procurements using RFX processes
  • Regional trades standing offer program
  • MRO materials program
  • National commodity services supplier program eg : elevator, pest control, etc.

    Management of selected Tier 1 suppliers and national suppliers by the Sourcing Team

    Processes and tracking of CBG management of key suppliers

    A repository of standard SOW’s and KPI’s used for key services

    Business Development & Client Transition Participate in business development and subsequent client transition activity to meet transition and operational goals.

    Manage the transition of supply chain.

    Leadership & Management Effectively manage a team of Sourcing and Supply Chain administration staff to achieve goals.

    Maintain high levels of employee productivity and satisfaction in alignment with corporate values.

    Provide leadership to broader BGIS Canada team with respect to the sourcing and supply chain function

    Work directly with clients as required to meet goals.

    In conjunction with BGIS Canada leadership, liaise with, develop and maintain ongoing relationships with suppliers, clients and industry as a whole.

    EDUCATION, JOB-RELATED YEARS OF EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

    MINIMUM EDUCATION : University graduation or professional certification (e.g. P. Eng, CMA, CGA or equivalent courses)

    JOB-RELATED EXPERIENCE : More than ten years

    Knowledge & Skills

  • In-depth strategic sourcing and supply chain management knowledge
  • Demonstrated ability to translate strategic intent into tactical action plans, implementation plans, delivery and measurable results.
  • Team facilitation, management, and leadership experience and demonstrated ability to lead teams through influence.
  • Experience developing and leading organizational change initiatives
  • Strategic thinking ability, tactical implementation ability
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong negotiating and influencing skills
  • Strong finance, business and procurement background
  • Goal & action-oriented
  • Excellent communication written, oral, presentation skills
  • Procurement and contract management experience
  • Corporate real estate experience
  • Team facilitation, management, leadership experience
  • Bilingual in English and French (desired)
  • Licenses and / or Professional Accreditation
