DEPARTMENT : Engagement Quality & Improvement
EQI is comprised of four separate teams falling under the same umbrella : Primary & Community Care Transformation, Shared Care Committee (SCC), Specialist Services Committee (SSC) and Facility and Community Engagement.
EQI works in large part to support the Joint Clinical Committees (JCCs) which include the : General Practices Services Committee (GPSC), Shared Care Committee (SCC), and Specialist Services Committee (SSC).
Driven by collaborative relationships between the Ministry of Health and Doctors of BC, and captured under the Physician Master Agreement, they are a group focused on developing and leveraging relationships, sharing knowledge and lessons learned and working together towards common goals to support improved patient outcomes, increased professional satisfaction and decreased system costs.
THE TEAM : Facility & Community Engagement
The Facility & Community Engagement team provides strategic guidance and supports to advance meaningful consultation and partnerships among community-based physicians and among facility-based physicians as well as with their health authority partners.
THE JOB : Engagement Partner, Northern BC (Part-time)
This position will be full-time during the 6 month initial probationary period and then move to a part-time basis of 4 days a week going forward.
This position requires the selected candidate to be located in Northern BC.
The Engagement Partner supports ongoing relationship and capacity building within a designated geographic area in the Northern Health Authority for physicians within the context of community and facility engagement.
The Engagement Partner is a trusted advisor to physician leaders and staff of Medical Staff Associations and / or Divisions as well as regional groups and other stakeholders to advance meaningful consultation and partnerships among member physicians and health authority and Ministry of Health partners.
The key duties and responsibilities of this role include strengthening relationships between physicians and administration, supporting Medical Staff Association and / or Divisions in developing governance and organizational capacity to effectively engage physicians, advancing the alignment of locally and regionally-led activities, enhancing the physician collective voice in health system planning and decision making, and contributing to provincial and regional committees related to physician engagement.

WHAT YOU BRING
An undergraduate university degree in a recognized and related field, and up to four years of progressive and relevant experience;
an equivalent level of related work experience in-lieu of post-secondary education will be considered.
A Master’s degree in a health or business-related field is preferred.
Knowledge of health regions, current issues and trends is required and experience working with health authorities, facilities and physicians is preferred
Proven ability to collaborate significantly with peers organization-wide and access guidance only when critically required
Previous success working highly autonomously, with nominal direction while practicing discretion and judgment.
Ability to conduct highly complex and highly specialized work activities associated with your client group and provide expert advice and solutions to achieve broader organizational results.
Skilled at providing strategic guidance to develop a common agenda, and serving as a thought leader / standard bearer for initiatives.
Strong problem solving skills at the operational and strategic level, as well as the ability to apply logical, and evaluative thinking to define problems, collect information, establish facts and determine optimal courses of action.
Strong skills in diplomacy, conflict resolution, presentations, communications, facilitation and relationship building.
Must be able to anticipate and proactively resolve highly complex and undefined issues
Demonstrated proficiency with PC based software, particularly Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Valid drivers’ license and car, along with willingness to travel within BC and to be flexible accommodating evening meetings, overnight stays and home based working.
