Primary ResponsibilitiesAs a Designer in our Highway and Road Design Group, we'll count on you to :

  • Produce drawings, layouts, sketches, maps, and graphic representations of engineering designs
  • Prepare road and highway designs with the occasional support of engineers and managers including horizontal and vertical alignment, roadway sections, construction plan and profile drawings, intersection layouts, interchange layouts, quantity estimates, and contract specifications
  • Conduct field investigations and inspections as needed#LI-MP2Required Qualifications
  • College diploma or combination of education and relevant experience
  • 5+ years’ experience in highway and road design
  • Proficient with AutoCAD, MicroStation, InRoads, and / or Civil3D
  • Familiarity with highway and road design and construction, construction drawings, quantity estimates, construction documents
  • Familiarity with commonly used design standards and processes including the TAC Geometric Design Guide for Canadian Roads, Ministry of Transportation design standards, CDED
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a mustPreferred Qualifications
  • C.Tech. or C.E.T. designation
