Reporting to the Executive Director, Strategy & Principal Gifts, the Development Officer, Campaigns will provide strategic support to and will collaborate with Sinai Health Foundation’s Advancement Team (comprised of Major, Leadership & Planned Gift portfolios).
The successful candidate will be highly capable, organized, creative, personable, solutions-oriented, and strategic in their thinking.
The successful candidate will also be an experienced fundraiser who will partner with various stakeholders to raise funds for Sinai Health.
Effectively manage a portfolio of 50-75 prospects in various stages of the fundraising cycle (Identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, stewardship), with a high rate of activity in each stage, ensuring movement of donors between stages occurs routinely.
Collaborate with and provide support to Advancement Directors in their major fundraising and campaign activities, including working and corresponding directly with donors, physicians, and volunteers, as required.
Lead the development of fundraising materials, such as proposals, concept papers, and letters, working, at times, with Sinai Health Foundation’s writing and stewardship teams and, at other times, independently;
this will involve working directly with clinicians and researchers to become familiar with their programs and areas of care.
The ability to turn complex ideas into easily relatable and understandable narratives is a must.
Create meaningful opportunities for donors and volunteers to engage directly with Sinai Health via tours, physician meetings, and behind-the-scenes experiences;
this will require excellent project management skills, a sharp eye for details, very good communication and inter-personal skills, and multi-tasking to ensure overall strategy and all accompanying tactics involved are thoroughly managed.
Work directly with the Executive Director, Strategy & Principal Gifts on campaign fundraising activities, designing and implementing cultivation and solicitation strategies.
Support board and volunteer engagement opportunities and meetings.
With the guidance and support of the Executive Director, Strategy & Principal Gifts, work directly with campaign volunteers on prospecting, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding their donors.
Post-secondary diploma or certificate, or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
Three (3) years of experience working with proven success, and an excellent track record of supporting fundraising activities and working in collaboration with stakeholders to manage solicitation of gifts.
Comfortable and confident front-facing; highly capable of interacting productively with physicians, researchers, donors, and volunteers.
Excellent writing and presentation skills.
Superior organizational skills.
Proactive, diplomatic and confident with the ability to develop, foster and maintain relationships.
Flexibility to work efficiently in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment is essential.
The ability to work both collaboratively within a team and independently with minimal supervision.
Self-starter with a bias for action; the ability to plan, organize and prioritize work, while handling multiple tasks and interruptions with poise and patience.
Ability to manage and be accountable for projects and tasks through from beginning to end.
Proven strategic and solutions-oriented thinking, combined with exceptional tactical implementation and project management skills.
Proficiency in Raiser’s Edge, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.

Office Location : Currently, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, SHF staff are working remotely. Ultimately, when it is safe to do so, our goal is to work out of the SHF offices, located in downtown Toronto.
