About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Marketing professional to join our team as Director, Institutional Product Marketing (Investor Solutions).

The ideal candidate is passionate about B2B Marketing, Financial Services (Investment Management) and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) issues / opportunities.

In this role you will collaborate closely with Product Strategy and Client Relations to understand our investor clients’ needs and position our products to effectively convey how they address those needs.

It will be important to draw out our ESG insights and support a variety of ESG use cases to help investors make informed decisions.

You will lead a Product Marketing team in articulating compelling value propositions that can be rolled out through creative lead generation campaigns, targeting institutional asset managers, pension funds, hedge funds and other financial market participants globally.

You will collaborate with senior colleagues from Morningstar to align on messaging and support joint Marketing initiatives.

Finally, you will work with the Sustainalytics digital marketing team to ensure the adoption of new Marketing technologies are aligned to the business’ needs.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead the Product Marketing team in developing effective lead generation strategies and plans to communicate the features and benefits of our ESG, impact and climate data and research products to investors
  • Develop and implement effective product bundling strategies to meet multiple client needs and create stickiness
  • Increase and strengthen client engagement through data-driven segmentation and targeting
  • Identify new ESG investing trends or topics around which marketing programs can be built
  • Lead the marketing launch for new products
  • Collaborate with Sustainalytics and Morningstar’s Digital Marketing teams to ensure the smooth adoption of the marketing technology stack, leading the implementation of best practices in the use of these tools
  • Collaborate with Sales to align on business processes for effectively lead management, implementing best practices for tracking and reporting on Marketing results
  • Represent Marketing on the multi-disciplinary Product Steering Committee to agree on new product development priorities and align other Marketing functions (Events, Communications & Digital) to these commitments
  • Support the implementation of Sustainalytics’ brand strategy and new brand roll-out
  • Map out the competitive landscape and monitor and track new developments
  • Develop and evolve our institutional market narrative
  • Qualifications

  • 10+ years’ Marketing experience (preferably B2B)
  • 5+ years’ experience leading a team
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience working in Financial Services, with a preference for Investment Management
  • A high energy individual with a positive, pragmatic / can-do attitude
  • Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment with high degree of autonomy and with a bias towards action in situations characterized by ambiguity
  • Proven stakeholder management track record such as the ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
  • Integrity and strong moral character with a passion for sustainability
