Summary : LINK 427 General Partnership is a joint venture responsible for designing, building, financing and operating / maintaining the 427 Expansion project.
Upon completion of construction, LINK 427 will provide Operations, Maintenance and Rehabilitation services for the next 30 years to the newly constructed 427 Expansion Project from Finch Ave.
to Major Mackenzie Dr.
With instructions from the Foreperson, the Core Operators will work together to perform repairs and maintain the highway infrastructure to meet performance requirements outlined in the LINK427 Project Agreement.
During the Winter season, the duties of this position change to shift work as an Emergency Response Operator, attending incidents, spills etc.
performing routine maintenance duties.
Make repairs to the highway including but not limited to pot hole repairs, installing small signs, end treatments, guiderails, washing bridges, sweeping, grass cutting etc.
Understand and ensure compliance with performance requirements on the LINK427 Project Agreement / MTO specifications
Operate heavy equipment like backhoe, loaders, tractors, HI-AB, Plows etc. as well as power tools
Providing traffic control at the accident scene. Set up and take down OTM book 7 traffic closures with the Emergency Response team
Provide assistance to the Emergency Response team in situations such as spills, accidents, inclement weather to implement an emergency plan etc.
Conduct daily circle checks of equipment before operating
Ensure fuel and other fluid levels are optimum
Clean and maintain the vehicle and perform minor repairs
Perform housekeeping duties to ensure shop, lunchroom, washrooms, other common areas and exterior of the yard are clean and safe
Maintain accurate documentation Diaries, hours of service, fuel records, time sheets etc.
Other duties as assigned
Class D commercial license with air brake endorsement (Z) is required
1+years’ experience in Road maintenance and knowledge of OTM book 7 through prior positions including snow plow operation, landscaping etc. are strong assets

Ability to operate small tools such as a cut off saw, chain saw, torches and heavy equipment like backhoes, tractors, loaders, HI-AB, winter equipment etc.
Crash Truck experience required
Basic computer skills and effective communication (both written and verbal) to accurately document daily activities etc.
Willingness to meet required on call demands and work assigned day, night and weekend shifts. Ability to lift heavy weights up to 50 pounds and work / drive outside in inclement weather conditions
