Regulatory Compliance Specialist
CavendishFarms is a leading producer of frozen food products for retail and foodservicemarkets throughout Canada, the United States and around the world.
We have two potato processing plants in PEI,one in Lethbridge, AB and another in Jamestown, ND. Headquartered in Dieppe,NB, the company also operates an appetizer plant in Wheatley, ON and has salesoffice locations in Toronto, Montreal and Boston.
Reporting to the Corporate QA RegulatoryCompliance Manager, the Regulatory Compliance Specialist-Corporate QualityAssurance shall be responsible for ensuring the company’s continued complianceto food industry regulations home and abroad.
This role will be responsible for providing regulatory support to theproduct development, label review, and assist in activities surroundingregulatory compliance for the company.
Key responsibilities :
Responsiblefor overseeing and advising on food regulatory issues with a focus on labelcompliance;
Deliveragainst key milestones to help support on-time delivery for all projects;
Provideproduct information such as ingredient listings, nutritionals, and preparationinstructions to internal and external customers;
Teams withProduct Development, Technical Sales, Operations, Marketing, and Supply Chainfor input into new product development process;
Providecommunication and updates to the company personnel concerning any regulatoryupdates or food safety issues;
Monitor theregulatory environment and provide updates as required to internalstakeholders;
All other duties as assigned.
Successful Candidate will possess the following qualifications :
Post-Secondarydegree in Science (Food Science, Chemistry, or Microbiology preferred);
2-3 years’experience in the Consumer Packaged Goods(food) industry;
Provenexcellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
Ability towork within a fast paced environment;
Demonstratedexperience in successfully building positive working relationships withinternal and external stakeholders;
Knowledge andunderstanding of the Global Food Safety Initiatives (GFSI) standards;
Familiaritywith CFIA, Health Canada, U.S. FDA and other foreign agencies regulations, asrequired;
Experienceworking within the regulatory framework;
Ability tointerpret and apply federal regulations.
