Responsibilities

To answer calls as promptly as possible to make repairs to maintain mill flow with all regards to safety. In situations requiring assistance, contact Supervisor, electrician or another maintenance crew member.

The time periods between should be spent repairing cylinders, valves and other related equipment in the millwright shop.

Additional spare time is to be utilized performing tasks associated with the preventative maintenance program. Problem areas need to be noted and forwarded for further examination and repair.

Periodically, work orders may be issued for minor repairs throughout the mill.

In situations of major breakdown, where the mill is unable to function, the millwright will be expected to assist in the necessary repairs.

The production supervisor may also issue requests relating to correcting safety deficiencies if they can be completed with the manpower and resources available on shift.

Qualifications

Journeyman Millwright Certification

3-5 years of millwright in a manufacturing environment experience

Previous experience in a Saw Mill or heavy industry preferred

Ability to read blue prints, plans and schematics;

Strong problem solving skills

Commitment to working safely coupled with strong communication & interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently with little supervision

First Aid Certificate would be an asset
