  • SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR Mitacs is seeking a System Administrator in the IT department. The candidate will participate in the design, configuration, and deployment of several technical projects.
  • The successful candidate must have deep knowledge in a wide variety of IT technologies, be a self-starter, be customer service oriented, and be passionate about technology.

  • Systems Administration Plan, design, and implement technical improvements to IT infrastructure, including servers, network, storage, and cloud;
  • Perform operational support. Maintain and upgrade existing infrastructure to meet capacity, reliability, security, efficiency and quality of IT systems;
  • Assess, contribute, and adhere to IT policies pertaining to security, business continuity, IT usage and best practices; QUALIFICATIONS 5+ years of experience working directly with general IT infrastructure technologies, including Linux / Windows Servers, virtualization using VMWare products, and WAN / LAN devices Ability to troubleshoot technical system errors and produce resolutions in a timely manner.

    Ability to deal with stressful situations with professionalism and to periodically work overtime and outside normal business hours.

    Ability to work in a highly organized manner with attention to detail and accuracy while meeting deadlines and managing multiple priorities.

    1 or more relevant certifications- VMWare / Cisco CCNA / Microsoft MCSE or equivalent experience Broad range of IT related systems administration including deployment and management of : Linux-

    based systems (Ubuntu, Debian) including OS management, LAMP stack, proxy services, MySQL Windows Server 2012 / 2016, Active Directory, DNS, MSSQL Firewall, VPN, load balancers, transactional web applications Email infrastructure, SMTP, email routing Virtualization based on VMware vSphere infrastructure Clustered and load balanced systems based on Windows and Linux servers Mitacs fosters a culture where creativity, innovation, diversity, and inclusion are valued, encouraged and fostered.
