Support COSTI's caseworkers in facilitating the integration and settlement process of Government-Assisted Refugees arriving to Greater Toronto Area
Escorts clients to appointments in the community.
Accompanies clients on public transit and assisting them in navigating their communities independently.
Community mapping : provides new clients with a tour of their neighbourhood.
Provides lay-interpretation for clients (no medical or legal interpretation)
Assists clients in navigating their new home, e.g., use of the elevator, kitchen appliances, laundry, fire safety, etc.

Additional information :
This is an unpaid volunteer position. (COSTI provides TTC tokens for transportation with clients.)
Volunteers undergo screening and training / orientation before starting.
Volunteers must maintain professional boundaries with clients, as outlined in training.
Volunteers must maintain confidentiality of client information.
Time commitment : At least 3 months, 4-8 hours per week.
Location : Program Office located at 760 College St. Toronto; families live across the GTA.
