Our client is a leader in the responsible development and reliable and safe operation of North American energy infrastructure.

They are one of the continent’s largest providers of gas storage and related services. They are currently looking for an Sr Community Relations Advisor for their Meaford location.

Role Overview :

As we seek to advance our proposed pumped storage project in Meaford, Ontario, we are seeking an enthusiastic and energetic individual to join our team.

The position will represent a key role on our project team and the successful candidate will be responsible for ongoing local consultation with

Government(s), local groups and associations and members of the community.

We recognize that excellence in community and stakeholder engagement helps us gather, understand and incorporate local feedback, ultimately contributing to better outcomes and projects.

Responsibilities :

  • Help identify, build and maintain relationships with key communities and local stakeholders
  • Prepare and deliver external presentations and informational briefings
  • Participate in the development of project communication materials and coordinate the delivery of project information packages and updates as required
  • Develop and implement event plans and attend local outreach events as required (community information sessions, local conferences, local community outreach activities)
  • Support regulatory applications and local permitting requirements where applicable
  • Support local contracting identification efforts
  • Support local educational / trade facility outreach for the purposes of establishing relationships in support of future recruitment campaigns
  • Minimum Qualifications :

  • University Degree in Political Science, Public Relations or Communications or an equivalent level of education and training
  • More than 5 years of Community Relations experience
  • Familiarity with area stakeholders (including government) and local issues
  • Effective communicator with a demonstrated ability to think strategically, weigh issues and recommend effective solutions
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills with a customer service focus
  • Located within the vicinity of the Municipality of Meaford
  • Valid drivers license, with an ability to travel within the area
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Post graduate degree(s)
  • Local Government or related local work experience
  • Energy industry experience
  • Indigenous relations experience
