Mackenzie Health is presently constructing the Mackenzie Vaughan Hospital (MVH), a new 1.2 million square foot hospital located in Vaughan, Ontario.
The hospital is a Design-Finance-Build-Maintain (DBFM) project under the Ontario government’s Alternative Financing and Procurement (AFP) model.
The Substantial Completion date for construction is in July 2020 and opening day is being planned for late 2020.POSITION SUMMARY
The Business Analyst II will provide support for the financial capital and redevelopment activities of the hospital, including project cost preparation, variance analysis and reporting, design of tracking and reporting systems, Ministry and other government reporting, internal reporting on capital activities, and business advice as required.
Provide financial advice for capital projects and redevelopment office
Develop and implement tracking and reporting systems for capital and redevelopment needs
Prepare internal reports on status and performance of capital projects
Prepare presentations to senior management, the board and the Ministry as required
Develop and prepare necessary reporting systems to monitor Ministry specific information on capital projects
Prepare internal reports to develop, monitor and track multiple components of capital project(s) that span numerous years
Assist with and prepare the cash flow forecast analysis tools, financing tracking tools for both internal and external reporting requirements
Participate in tracking, analyzing and reporting on hospital debt management as it relates to capital projects
Monitor and track local share plan financing agreement obligations
Assist with the deficiency process and project settlement reconciliation and reporting requirements to the MOHLTC
Be an active member of capital project relevant committees, as required
Participate in project work, as required
Understand and interpret complex MOHLTC and Infrastructure Ontario guidelines for capital redevelopment projects
Undergraduate degree with a professional accounting designation (CA, CMA, or CGA), or equivalent experience.
Previous hospital experience. Minimum three years experience as accountant, analyst;
Previous experience with major capital redevelopment projects, preferred;
Ability to be flexible, especially during periods of major deadlines or project milestones. Internal and external deadlines are multiple, continuous and typically with short turnaround times.
Demonstrated ability to work with hospital staff of all levels and specialties in a positive, cooperative manner;
Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload and function in a changing and sometimes demanding work environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organization and time management skills with an ability to effectively manage a complexity of tasks simultaneously
Ability to deal effectively with multiple priorities and possess tact and diplomacy in dealing with inquiries and requests for information
Demonstrated initiative, high degree of accuracy and ability to handle a complexity of tasks simultaneously
Strong problem solving skills and sound judgment
Polished, professional interpersonal skills with an ability to work effectively in a team environment and with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Prepared to respond to a fast-paced changing environment requiring flexibility with respect to working hours
Proven attendance record
