The Opportunity :

The Financial Analyst is responsible for providing financial analysis on a portfolio of real estate assets in support of an Asset Management team that manages both private equity funds and joint ventures with institutional investors as well as a publicly traded REIT.

What you’ll be responsible for day to day :

  • Maintains and / or creates financial models and analysis for a portfolio of real estate assets, monitoring performance and informing business decisions;
  • Supports internal reporting requirements and asset management planning exercises;
  • Contributes to budgeting, forecasting, and reporting efforts as required;
  • Ensures timely and accurate creation of quarterly and annual financial reports for institutional partners and required analysis including acquisition pro-
  • formas, budgets reports, forecasts and project based reports;
  • Assists in annual valuation of real estate assets;
  • Heavily involved in portfolio management and investment decision making
  • Ensures adherence to the system of internal controls established to provide accurate financial reporting and the safeguarding of assets;
  • Continuously seeks additional analytical context by exploring and monitoring economic and industry trends, maintaining current knowledge of peer competitors
  • Is a collaborative contributor in the Asset Management team, builds strong relationships and liaises effectively with other Minto divisions and external stakeholders;
  • Other duties within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job, as requested by management.
  • Who we’re looking for :

    Education : University Degree (ideally, but not necessarily, geared towards a quantitative discipline : Commerce, Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Engineering, etc.)

    Experience : Ideally 0-5 years, no minimum required

    Skills, Knowledge and Abilities :

  • Exceptional character
  • Exceptional ability to, and interest in, learning
  • Exceptional communication skills (listening, verbal and written)
  • Ideally some advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge, including financial modeling
  • Considering working towards an accounting, finance or related professional designation or a master’s degree
  • Will ultimately need to be fluent in calculating and interpreting investment performance (IRR, NPV, ROI, AFFO, sensitivity analysis, etc.)
