Responsibilities :

  • Develop and execute contracting strategies related to the Extended Alliance / Distribution Alliance (EA) and Joint Utility Trench (JUT) Agreements.
  • Take a lead role in executing the unique EA and JUT contracts working closely with the business and Legal to develop and negotiate contracts including specific amendments & change orders.
  • Represent the business in negotiations with contractors and all EA and JUT agreement discussions with the Legal department acting as a Subject Matter Expert in the areas of operations activities.

  • Manage ongoing change orders and the change order process which can be complex in nature due to the magnitude of the EA and JUT agreements prior to approval to identify any contractual impacts.
  • Accountable for reviewing all gain sharing Change Orders to identify document and negotiate contract Amendments that might be required.
  • Support and provide advice to internal clients as a Subject Matter Expert with respect to contracts and change orders, and in particular, EA and JUT Agreements.
  • Work with leadership of Operations to manage performance of contractors.
  • Accountable for the implementation of any new EA contract pricing in systems and ensuring pricing changes meet SOX requirements through post payment audit activities.
  • Operate as key liaison and build and maintain strong working relationships with Operations, Finance, Engineering, Legal, Risk, and WMC to ensure sourcing policies, rules, procedures and processes are aligned within the wider corporate context.
  • Support and provide advice to internal clients with respect to contracts, and in particular, EGI’s Extended Alliance / Distribution Alliance Agreements.
  • Managed and co-ordinate the overall contract management process for EGI’s Extended Alliance / Distribution Alliance Agreements.
  • Develop and maintain effective vendor relationships with key contractors adapting to changing strategic priorities of the company.
  • Understand business objectives and strategic direction of Corporate SCM in support of Supply Chain Management activities.
  • Support all rate case filings in regards to evidence relating to EA and JUT contracts.
  • Review and approve all process changes in conjunction with EA and JUT to ensure that all changes meet internal control requirements.

    Required :

  • Related University degree with a minimum of 10 years business experience preferably in the gas distribution business; or a University degree in engineering with a minimum of 10 years engineering / operations related experience.
  • Strong understanding of the gas distribution industry.
  • Proven analytical, interpersonal, communication, negotiation, project management, strategic thinking and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to be innovative, initiate and manage change, influence all levels of the organization.
  • Strong ability to achieve results through others.
  • Highly developed competency in the following leadership areas : customer focus, innovation and change management, interpersonal skills, oral and written communications, negotiations.
  • Demonstrated experience in contract management and policy development.
  • Highly developed skills in financial analysis.
  • Expertise in understanding and articulating the company’s strategy; understanding of the company’s business process and an ability to translate that knowledge into sourcing and governance strategy.
  • Highly developed skills in project management, ability to prioritize deployment of resources, and create high performing teams.
  • High level of communication and influence skills, as well as excellent interpersonal and consultative capabilities. Must be able to effectively communicate concepts and requirements to key stakeholders.
  • Preferred :

  • P.Eng, MBA or CFA designation preferred.
  • Completion of a SCM related professional certification, such as PMAC or ISM, is considered an asset.
