The Senior Financial Analyst reports to the Director, S&T Business Management and will work closely with the Financial Analyst to provide financial planning, business analysis, and business decision support to the Science and Technology organization.
The Senior Financial Analyst will also work closely with the Business Development group for all commercial work. S&T is a complex organization with both federal and third party funding that must be monitored and reported on by the analyst.
Include but are not limited to the following :
Analyses monthly, quarterly, and year over year results and trends; produces and updates rolling forecast and ensures accuracy and integrity of data and information.
Ensure facility rates are established for all S&T facilities and assist with monthly monitoring of usage
Promotes consistent implementation and use of corporate financial policies, processes, guidelines and tools in order to maintain integrity, safeguard corporate assets, and mitigate risk.
Conducts financial evaluation and assessment of new business and / or customer opportunities and applies standard costs impact analysis and modeling techniques to evaluate and project benefits and risks.
Provide financial planning, business analysis, and business decision support to the Science and Technology organization
Provide effective financial oversight and review of project estimates, contracts, service agreements, and purchase commitments for accuracy and compliance with policy
Facilitate and provide operations and strategic analysis with recommendations in support of overall program and project delivery.
Provide recommendations / oversight on program expenditures and revenues in support of the company’s financial management framework.
Completed post-secondary education in a related field, commerce, finance, economics, accounting, business administration;
CPA designation is preferred
8-10 years’ experience in a financial business decision support role
Knowledge of PowerBI is essential.
Sound knowledge of financial analysis techniques, business analysis, and planning methodology
Analytical and problem solving skills with an ability to think strategically and independently
Ability to analyze and interpret financial data, investigate variances, and provide assessment of future impacts
Strong communication and organizational skills
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required
Advanced knowledge of Oracle financial reporting system is preferred
