Working with the First Nations Education Steering Committee (FNESC), all of our teachers and teacher assistants follow directed instruction through the Read-Well, Corrective Reading, Reading Mastery and Saxon-Math programs.
Reporting to the Principal, the Teacher will guide a split-class, with a dedicated education assistant. It is important for the right candidate to have an understanding of Indigenous pedagogy and Indigenous culture.
While literacy, numeracy and social responsibility are essential in education, Indigenous culture is paramount. We are strong advocates that children come first, the environment for learning must be kind, accepting, fun and playful.
Experience teaching in a First Nation School preferred; and, Embrace a school-wide approach to teaching.
