of Emergency & Critical Care Medicine, Division of Emergency Medicine is seeking a physician for a part-time (0.13 FTE) permanent position.
We are a group of enthusiastic ERP's with CCFP and ABEM certification.
The ER sees around 125 visits per day. We have recently started a Rapid Access and Diagnostic Virtual Unit (RADU) which has added a new shift 7 days a week from 9 am until 1630.
This unit manages patients meeting strict criteria who are likely to be discharged within 24hrs of admission. The RADU person also supports the ED.
We have double coverage from 09 : 30 to 01 : 00 every day and triple coverage from 11- 1630.
We are looking for someone willing to work ER and RADU shifts. The work will be half time with flexibility based on group needs.
We are affiliated with the University of British Columbia’s Island Medical Program and participate in teaching of medical students and residents.
We are also the pre-deployment readiness site for military physicians and PAs.
Plans are underway for a new hospital in the Cowichan Valley to be built in the next 5-10 years.
May be eligible for additional remuneration in accordance with the Rural Subsidy agreement (RSA) including :
Fee Premium 4.2%, $4,222.80 Annual Flat Fee, CME payments of $2,200 in years 3 and 4 and $4,400 after 4 years.
