The System Administrator will provide Linux and Windows server and network support. Additional tasks will include maintaining systems, troubleshooting customer-related issues and assigned project work.


  • Monitoring managed customer equipment
  • Take lead on Project work
  • Managing & monitoring the ticketing system queue
  • Providing remote troubleshooting and onsite troubleshooting as required
  • Performing administrative tasks and troubleshooting for managed desktop clients
  • Reviewing and analyzing logs such as security and maintenance log files
  • Escalating to next level technical / vendor support as needed
  • Proactively contacting customers when critical events require
  • Strong communication skills written and verbal
  • Excellent customer service skills in person, over the phone and via email
  • Strong multitasking, troubleshooting and analytical thinking skills
  • Good time management skills, the ability to work independently
  • Strong customer service disposition
  • Ability to multitask
  • Qualifications

  • 4 years of Linux System Administration experience
  • Good experience with Linux variants such as Centos, Debian, Red Hat, Ubuntu etc.
  • 4 years of experience with Windows Server 2003 / 2008 / 2012 / 2016 and Windows Desktop 7,8,10 Admin
  • Hands-on experience with VMWare
  • Hyper-V experience is an asset
  • Experience with various firewalls CISCO, Fortigate, SonicWall etc.
  • Juniper experience is an asset
  • Understanding of Internet Services, DNS, Bind, SMTP-mail servers, Web-Hosting, VPN, SAN
  • A good understanding of TCP / IP and general networking and systems security
