Position Overview

Are you looking for a role that challenges both your creative skills as well as your analytical abilities? Do you want to develop and build awareness, create demand and drive revenues for our key portfolios by enabling our strategic partners?

In the Sr. Program Manager, Partnerships role you will develop and deliver partner marketing programs that enable TBS to acquire new customers, retain and grow existing customers and deliver growth in revenue through our partners.

You will develop a deep understanding of the TBS partner community and TBS field priorities to define and execute a partner marketing plan to support the growth objectives in Canada.

You will act as the primary contact for the TBS sales team with the partners, including regular participation in team calls, in-

person meetings and planning sessions. You will also act as the primary marketing and product contact and consultant for our strategic partners to build and execute joint go to market plans and programs.

You will constantly monitor and support partner MDF and enable appropriate spend of MDF on marketing initiatives including being an expert resource on process, guidelines and options for partners.

You will leverage global partner programs, define and execute regional programs, and constantly seek to improve upon communications to partners so that partners are aware of the full scope of our strategy as it pertains to them.

You will own the partner event and marketing strategy.

This role requires strong collaboration and relationship-building skills as you will be required to partner with Executives to Tactical resources at Partner Organizations, TBS Field Marketing, Product Marketing, Customer Marketing and most importantly the Sales organization to define and execute Partner Marketing programs.

You will be the voice of the Partner's marketing needs into various internal stakeholders and to share best practices across regions.

You will also be required to manage outside stakeholders to execute programs and achieve goals.

This role is ideally suited for an individual possessing strong program development, program management, and facilitation skills, the ability to leverage systems and numbers to tell a story, and has a passion to grow within a small team.


  • Strategy : develop partner programs strategic direction
  • What do we want to achieve together this year and why? How will we measure success? What are we jointly committing to? Where is TBS weak where partners are strong, how can we leverage our partners assets?
  • Create strategy frameworks and more importantly manage execution
  • Negotiations : support negotiation of strategic agreements by working collaboratively with our Partners and TELUS Product Management, Procurement and Legal teams
  • Administration : partner framework, governance, and manage execution of partner programs such as certifications, marketing, partner portal administration and work with extended stakeholder teams to maximize TELUS competitiveness
  • Fund Management : develop framework, governance and manage execution of partner investments and funding (including Market Development Funds, Volume Incentive Rebates, R&D Funding) aimed at growing TELUS' capabilities and reducing time to market
  • Executive Alignment : support ELT in Partner meetings through Create crisp, executive-level presentations, synthesizing actionable recommendations from quantitative and qualitative data
  • This includes strategy decks, product marketing roadmaps, margin dashboards, market sizing and customer segmentation and vertical specific strategies
  • Sales Alignment : support Customers First initiatives by aligning partner support coverage with TELUS sales and customer requirements, sales training and sales rallies, customer incentives etc.
  • Partner Product Marketing Support : develop partner product marketing roadmap and deliverables
  • Optimize TELUS' product marketing arm by leveraging partner assets : customer webinars and success stories, sales win / loss reviews, sales demo days and talk tracks, content focused on business outcomes vs.
  • features and specs, whitepapers, battle cards, campaigns in a box (vertical focused), sales training and videos, website enhancements etc.

  • Relationship Currency : understand what this means and how to use it
  • This will be your biggest asset in this role if you properly know how to influence folks internally and externally to follow your vision

  • Qualifications : Requirements


  • Possess an understanding of how to drive business and marketing with and through a partner community
  • Strong understanding of sales folks' pain points and a deep passion to resolve them
  • Have great ideas, and execution and roll-up-the-sleeves attitude on those ideas is a must
  • Experience in a business-to-business (B2B) environment, high-tech products / services required; enterprise software experience preferred
  • Strong experience in managing multiple partners / customers of varied sizes to build marketing programs appropriate for their goals
  • Demonstrated experience in working with sales leaders in driving pipeline and revenue
  • Demonstrated experience developing and managing complex projects and programs and navigating across entities within a large enterprise organization
  • Data analysis experience
