Cambrian is seeking an experienced Financial Analyst responsible for providing accurate and data based information on Cambrian’s profitability, liquidity, performance to budget, and risk management.

The Financial Analyst evaluates opportunities and potential outcomes from business decisions to assist Cambrian in making decisions that are well informed and data driven.

The Financial Analyst also provides support for the Finance Department in day to day operations, budget, and audit.

In the role of Financial Analyst, you will :

  • Support the management of Cambrian’s treasury, investment, securitization, and derivative portfolio by producing analysis and making recommendations
  • Produce and manage Cambrian’s reporting to Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC)
  • Assist with asset liability management, including working with service providers to produce quarterly risk analysis, generation of reporting and analysis for the Asset Liability Management Committee (ALCO)
  • Provide analysis as required for various projects and business decisions and present in a way that adds value to end users
  • Improve Credit Union financial results through the analysis of results, variances to budget and forecasting
  • Perform analysis and provide recommendations on Cambrian’s service fee structure
  • Assist Controller in preparation of the annual budget, specifically related to significant areas of estimation
  • Support day to day finance and accounting activities as required including procedures related to internal controls
  • Liaise with internal departments such as IT and business intelligence
  • Provide assistance and support to the Controller and Chief Financial Officer as required.
  • Your experience :

  • CPA Designation
  • Minimum 2 years of job related experience
  • Proficient in Outlook, Word & Excel
  • Creative thinker / problem solver, with a member-centred approach and strong drive to continuously improve and add value to the business
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate at the right level of complexity for the audience
  • Detailed oriented, strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify relationships, problems and issues
  • Financial services industry experienced would be an asset
