The Financial Analyst ensures that financial information is prepared and analyzed with a high degree of accuracy and on a timely basis.
This opportunity resides in the GTA Lowrise Division and provides the Financial Analyst strong exposure to cross-functional forecasting, budgeting and analysis processes, interaction with multiple stakeholder groups and a solid platform to further develop key competencies.
In addition, Mattamy Homes is proud to be a designated CPA Employer and we anticipate that the successful candidate will be eligible to participate in our Mattamy Homes CPA Program, which provides cost and time support towards the attainment of the CPA designation.
Support cross-functional forecasting and budgeting processes, including forecasts for the three statements and presentation materials for executive audiences.
Coordinate monthly variance analysis processes, ensuring high quality and consistent analysis with commentary that addresses key issues and drivers.
Partner with business groups to understand drivers and assumptions to improve forecasting accuracy as well as identify risks, opportunities, and potential actions.
Work closely with the Manager, finance colleagues and business partners to prepare modelling and other analyses to drive initiatives, monitor trends, and identify exceptions and to support the budgeting, forecasting and strategic planning processes.
Perform sensitivity and scenario analysis to determine impact of changes to underlying assumptions to the income statement, balance sheet and statement of cashflows.
Identify and implement ways to improve the quality and efficiency of finance processes.
Become a power user and subject matter expert in the division for key financial systems.
Prepare ad hoc reports and analysis requested by Departments, Central Services, etc.
Foster strong working relationships across the businesses and work proactively to identify opportunities for finance to act as a strategic business partner.
What You Bring
University Degree, with a focus in Finance or Accounting
Completed or working towards finance designation (CPA or CFA)
1-3 years experience in a finance, accounting, or analysis orientated role
Strong technical skills with the ability to learn new software and systems with ease
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across levels and functions
Ability to work well in a team environment or independently
Strong attention to detail
Demonstrates the highest level of ethics and personal integrity
Advanced MS Excel and intermediate to advanced PowerPoint skills required. VBA an asset
Experience with JDE, Essbase and Hyperion assets
