The Partner Solutions Emerging Services team is seeking a Senior Product Manager to support the Service Delivery Framework (SDF) Application Programming Interface (API) portfolio.
In this role you will be the Product Owner for services within TELUS’ SDF API portfolio such as Application to Person (A2P) messaging and Direct Carrier Billing (DCB) and will have end-to-end accountability for managing the product life cycle and day to day operational activities to drive profitable growth for the business.
You will join a core team of Product Managers and Service Development Managers working collaboratively with external vendors and business partners across TELUS to conceptualize, develop and manage new products and services.
You will play a pivotal leadership role in influencing business decisions that impact our customers and the company in a global context.
The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of wireless technologies, systems and processes, understanding of API frameworks and experience leading the development and implementation of new products and services through the service development life cycle with a customer-centric mindset.
Manage to day to day operational activities for the provisioning, settlement and support of Short Code and Long Code numbers enabling internal and external customers with A2P messaging
Provide support for setup, certification, billing and settlement of DCB functionality for 3rd party service providers
Engage third-party industry experts to ensure alignment of product strategy to global trends
Act as Product Owner and subject matter expert to provide thought leadership, strategic planning, P&L management, forecasting, roadmap development, product development, product marketing & channel enablement for the SDF portfolio
Support management reporting activities to communicate KPI results to key technical and business stakeholders at management and executive level
Ensure business continuity for A2P and DCB services by supporting the triage of any troubleshooting issues related to service provisioning or billing
Maintain the strategic planning and product roadmap evolution for the SDF program including all target market sizing, pricing, product strategy, competitive analysis, customer insights validation, user story development, requirements / user story prioritization, resource planning and release management
Act as the primary business liaison for 3rd party vendors, partner and service aggregators requiring support for A2P, DCB or other SDF services
Support business development activities by participating in key industry events, conferences and meetings as necessary to promote the product to prospective customers and strategic partners
Work collaboratively with internal teams and external vendors to Improve and evolve supporting processes (billing, taxation, onboarding, operations, customer support, etc.)
Work with peers in Technology Strategy and Business Transformation to help decipher the business impact of new technology as it relates to new SDF products and services
You're the missing piece of the puzzle
Solid understanding of wireless billing, provisioning, ordering / fulfillment and care / assure systems and supporting processes
A solid understanding of TELUS products and services would be ideal
Working experience with API frameworks
Agile and waterfall service development and project management processes and procedures
Fundamentals of design thinking and continuous improvement
Strong strategic, marketing, business management and financial acumen
Required Skills & Abilities
Excellent attention to detail, structured approach to analysis and the ability to develop rational and logical arguments
Product / service development life cycle management experience
Ability to transform customer needs and requirements into business opportunities by formulating a product strategy and delivering on an implementation plan that fulfills on the customer needs
Comfortable working and communicating with all levels of management across the organization on both technical and business process discussions
Strong interpersonal and vendor / partner management skills
Strong presentation skills to a wide variety of audiences including internal & external executives and sales & marketing organizations
Positive attitude with a bias for planning, organizing, taking initiative and action
Strong leadership, project and process management skills, and the ability to lead cross functional teams
Experience working in a fast-paced, continually changing environment
Required Professional Designation / Certification
University degree in Engineering, Computer Science or similar technical focus
MBA is preferred
5+ years’ experience managing products through the product lifecycle from conceptualization through implementation, go-to-market and post implementation
