Help bring research to life and drive your career forward with the National Research Council of Canada (NRC), Canada's largest research and technology organization.

We are looking for a Senior Manager, Library and Information Management Client Support Services to support NRC in the delivery of its research mandate, by providing strategic oversight over key aspects of integrated information, data, knowledge and library management services.

The successful candidate will be a creative and flexible individual who works well in a challenging and changing environment.

Working with the NRC community and integrated information management / technology (IM / IT) teams, you will :

Consult with clients and monitor trends and external factors, to define and evolve client services in the areas of library, information and data management.

Identify priorities and new service directions for knowledge services.

Conceptualize and develop strategies to ensure NRC-wide awareness of best practices for information and data management.

Focus on managing the people, processes and leading change within IM teams and with client adoption of IM practices.

Participate in internal NRC, Government of Canada and external committees to ensure service alignment and effective sharing of best practices.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in a field relevant to the position.

Experience

Extensive experience in the development and delivery of client-facing information services, such as library services, knowledge / research services, information and data management services.

Extensive experience in developing and implementing policies, processes and performance measurement frameworks.

Extensive experience leading teams and managing projects.

Extensive experience managing human and financial resources.

Technical Competencies

Extensive knowledge of the principles, practices, methods, tools and solutions used to enable the delivery of client-focused information services.

Knowledge of the legal and policy framework for the management of information and data in the Government of Canada, including the roles of central agencies, as well as current trends and approaches in information service delivery in a government context.

Extensive knowledge of the theories, principles and practices associated with the design and delivery of services to clients, including training and awareness programs.

Demonstrated ability to build teams and collaborative networks, manage change, and to develop and sustain stakeholder relationships in a research and innovation environment.

Behavioural Competencies

Relocation

Relocation assistance will be determined in accordance with the NRC's directives.

Compensation

From $57,220 to $161,754 per annum.

In addition, the incumbent will receive the Bilingualism Bonus of $800 per year.
