Acclaim Health announces the availability of one (1) Full-Time Supervisor, Home and Personal Support Services - 1 Year Contract position in the Health Services team.

This position is located in the Oakville Office supervising the Burlington West PSW team. As a member of the Health Services team the incumbent is responsible for working in the community providing the supervision, support and training to personal support workers.

The incumbent will work Monday Friday, 7.5 hours per day with on call rotation with other members of the team.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS :

  • Analyses and problem solves health care issues and environmental factors as they relate to the programs.
  • Assists with implementing and maintaining program policies and procedures.
  • Ensures that the ethical and legal requirements for non-regulated worker practices are met.
  • Monitors and facilitates the performance of staff.
  • Work in compliance with the OHSA and its regulations and the rules and procedures of the internal Health and Safety System.
  • Works in collaboration with Human Resources in recruitment and orientation of Personal Support Workers.
  • Collaborates with external stakeholders and contractors on the development & implementation of program projects and services.
  • Collaborates with the department Manager to ensure adherence to the budget.
  • QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION :

  • At a minimum must have a Registered Practical Nursing Certificate
  • Member in good standing with the College of Nurses
  • Valid Ontario driver’s license, use of vehicle and insurance per Acclaim Health policy.
  • EXPERIENCE & SKILLS :

  • Minimum 2 to 3 years of demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective listening skills.
  • Demonstrated ability in assessment, problem-solving and negotiating skills.
  • Strong planning, coordinating and organizing skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in quality / risk management.
  • Proven ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Alayacare.
  • Knowledge of community resources.
  • Basic knowledge of Acclaim Health and its services.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team member.
