From pioneer to leader in the security industry, Genetec has always been committed to providing the most innovative solutions.
Today, we offer world-class IP security solutions with our unified security platform encompassing license plate recognition (LPR), video surveillance and access control.
Genetec has been recognized as one of Montreal’s top employers for six years running. Part of what makes us such a great company is our commitment to next generation talent.
We pride ourselves on our comprehensive internship program which provides university students with the opportunity to be part of interesting and challenging projects that will equip them with the practical skills needed in the professional world.
Many of our interns return for second, third, and sometimes fourth internships, which often lead to permanent positions with the company upon graduation.
We are strong believers in harnessing and nurturing today’s young talent.
Software developers at Genetec use their technical aptitudes creatively in order to design and program new features, while working closely with the product management teams to meet customers’ expectations.
They work in multidisciplinary teams driven by the desire to overcome the limits of the technology in order to please and attract customers.
The current position is a code intensive position specialized in software development using .NET technologies for signal processing, machine learning, and anomaly detection applications.
Additionally the Data Science team is tasked with managing the Genetec Data Warehouse framework in order to allow seamless interoperability of cross-
domain services in our next generation platform. The candidate will work in a fast paced environment developing applications and tools using Genetec’s cloud-
first policy which are highly distributed and scalable.
Key responsibilities include :
The candidate will work in the R&D Data Science team which is underneath the Genetec Plaform group. The data science team is tasked with tackling the many machine learning, signal processing, and anomaly detection problems which arise internally in our various product lines.
We work with the multiple infrastructure groups within Genetec to determine their various data science problems, analyze if the problems are solvable, and provide a prototype solution if possible.
Since this is a heavily research-based team, the team does not follow the typical release cycle of the rest of Genetec until a project’s feasibility is assured.
Once a prototype is created, we then establish a release to the team (or teams) which will be benefiting from the tool created as well as demonstrating how it works and providing at least preliminary support after deployment.
This team does not work on any single product line within Genetec but crosses almost all internal team boundaries to help solve the various and complex mathematical problems which arise within Genetec’s scope of work.
All current members are researchers who have performed graduate-level work in image processing, machine learning, statistical signal processing, etc.
