Working as a member of the shoring crew, the Nozzleman is responsible for the safe and efficient application of shotcrete and adhering to engineering specifications.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work safely in a construction site and promote a safe work environment adhering to safety policies and procedures including participation in safety meetings
  • Work with the Foreman and the shoring crew to apply concrete to excavated wall, working closely with shoring labourers and pump operator to ensure appropriate flow volume, consistency and other tasks are executed
  • Perform inspections on all hoses and equipment prior to use to ensure safety and equipment is operating correctly
  • Encapsulate rebar and mesh with product to ensure zero gaps in shotcrete
  • Maintain equipment and promptly report any maintenance issues
  • Maintain quality results of work
  • Work as a team with other crew members on daily activities of the site
  • Work safely around utilities and promote a safe work environment adhering to safety policies and procedures including participation in daily safety meetings
  • Qualifications, Experience & Skillset

  • 2+ years’ Nozzleman experience preferred
  • ACI Nozzleman certification is an asset
  • Previous experience as a Groutman / Labourer is an asset
  • Knowledge of grout flow requirements through the pump line
  • First aid, confined space, and fall protection training is an asset
  • Maintain quality results of work to be done
  • Maintain equipment and promptly report any maintenance issues
  • Good communications ability, able to work with variety of individuals
  • Work as a team with other crew members on daily site activities
  • Understanding of safety and ability to communicate safety issues as they arise
  • Must be physically fit, able to spend most or all shift standing, walking, lifting, and carrying, working hands-on in an outdoor environment in all types of weather
  • Flexibility with hours worked, including overtime and weekend work as needed
  • Willingness to learn and possibly work across other divisions
  • Must be local to the Lower Mainland
  • Must possess valid Class 5 Drivers License and be able to travel to sites across region
