JOB SUMMARY

The back store manager, under the supervision of the management team, is responsible for managing all procedures for receiving, distributing and processing merchandise at the back of the store.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for keeping the department neat and tidy;
  • Coordinate back store clerks’ work, scheduling and operations to ensure adequate staffing levels;
  • Contact suppliers and carriers to resolve delivery issues;
  • Send incoming merchandise to shelves or location at the back of the store to make it available to window dressers;
  • Check the status, date and quantity of incoming merchandise to see whether it matches the carrier’s documents;
  • Discuss problem cases with management team;
  • Check receipt slips to confirm that merchandise quantities, prices, sizes and colours agree with the information on the purchase order;
  • Label the merchandise based on the information on the purchase order, in accordance with company labelling standards;
  • Perform data entry;
  • Monitor inventory of back store supplies and equipment and place orders when required;
  • Comply with occupational health and safety standards while working;
  • Handle equipment and merchandise carefully to minimize losses;
  • Any other related tasks.
