  • What & Why :

    As a result of internal growth and investment in their technology team, our client is looking to add two software test engineers to one of their largest product teams.

    This team is responsible for building cellular routers and gateways that impact millions of people daily by enabling better access to critical data and help provide connectivity to remote people and equipment.

    You will be responsible for validating the capabilities of next generation gateways, cloud-based device and network management solutions.

    You will be working collaboratively to perform analysis on system and feature requirements and develop test plans for product functionality, quality and usability verification ensuring that software releases and products adhere to the specs, performance standards and functionality requirements.

    Our client is a global leader in the IoT field and has a significant focus on R&D. You will be an integral part of building out new capabilities and new device to cloud solutions.

    They have a great office space in Richmond with a shuttle bus that runs from a SkyTrain station and subsidized cafeteria and fitness classes.

    You :

    You will bring the following education, skills and experience to the role :

  • 5-7 years experience in software testing and test automation development.
  • 3-5 years of experience with one or more scripting languages such as Perl, Python and bash shell scripts.
  • Experience in testing TCP / IP networking and security technologies (IPsec, GRE, SSL, QoS, SNMP, VLAN, L2TP, Netfilter, IP Table, DNS, NAT and DHCP etc.) is desirable.
  • Experience working in a Linux environment, knowledge of operating system installation, configuration, administration, networking, and script development is desirable.
  • Familiarity with Dell server hardware and virtualized environments such as VMWare would be an asset.
  • Experience working with cloud-based services such as Amazon AWS, large SQL database, scalability testing, hands-on experience with relational databases, such as MySQL, SQL Server, and SQLite would be an asset.
  • Experience working with application container orchestration such as Docker, Kubernetes is desirable.
  • Experience with Cellular wireless and WiFi testing is an asset.
  • Experience with defect tracking tool such as Bugzilla, JIRA and revision control tools such as Subversion, CVS.
  • Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a Technology Diploma with relevant industry experience.
