Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain MNP’s network and communications infrastructure firm-wide, including Wide Area Networks, Local Area Networks and ISP communications
  • Architecting the network to ensure it is configured to adhere to best practices for security and performance
  • Deep understanding of routing protocols including Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) and Open Shortest Path First (OSPF)
  • Configure and monitor tools to assist in identifying and eliminating performance and security risks
  • Perform regular network audits to ensure security standards are up to date
  • Ensure the integrity of the network and help reduce or eliminate downtime by troubleshooting system problems, monitoring network usage and performance bottlenecks
  • Maintain firewall policies and routing tables
  • Configure and manage VPN connectivity from both our edge devices and workstation clients
  • Create and maintain accurate documentation of network layout, switch configurations, routing tables and VLAN’s
  • Liaise with vendors and technical specialists to determine best solutions for the firm
  • Configure and maintain radius servers used for authentication
  • Your Skills and Experience

  • Completion of Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification or equivalent education is preferred
  • 5 or more years of related work experience with supporting Layer 2 and Layer 3 environments
  • Good understanding of NetFlow and Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) protocols
  • Knowledge of VoIP systems; specific knowledge of Mitel VoIP systems would be an advantage
