Job Description

  • Support and Administration of Developer tool set including but not limited to; Confluence, Jira, Github, HP ALM, Sonarcube, Nexus, Artifactory and lead performance tuning / scaling.
  • working knowledge of Jenkins, UCD)

  • Oversee incident investigations to find root causes, the put high quality remediation plans into action
  • Drive and manage a highly effective controls environment covering change management, production implementation, compliance and audit controls as well as business continuity
  • Communication and schedule of test cycles and deployments with key stakeholders
  • Ensure scheduled changes take place with proper testing, monitoring and implementation, at minimal business risk
  • Work with partners to ensure environment modifications interact appropriately and other areas of impact are addressed and meet performance requirements
  • Understand and identify opportunities to improve support costs (people, infrastructure and applications)
  • Negotiate, document project deliverables, timelines, costing, governance
  • focus on operational improvements to lower operational, reputational and proprietary risks.
  • Ensure operations training documentation is current and readily available
  • Maintain technology currency (perform Upgrades, server patching, certificate renewal, etc.) with keen eye on automating opportunities
  • Ensure uptime of DevOps / Collaboration tools as per Service Level Objectives.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues as they arise with Collaboration and DevOps tools. Interact with existing vendors for support and troubleshooting.
  • Follow RBC Technology Standards, Change Management process and provide guidance and governance to ensure application environments meet compliance requirements.

  • Enhance your skills in scripting automation to help eliminate both tedious and manual work and operational toil

  • What do you need to succeed?

  • Expert knowledge of Operations best practices with a keen eye on automation
  • 2-3 years of understanding and use of Rest APIs, Ansible etc and database technologies like SQL Server.
  • Expert knowledge of Linux operating systems, administration and shell scripting.
  • Expert knowledge and experience of large scale technical deployments and Enterprise Tools upgrades across multiple business units.
  • Nice-to-have

  • Experience in SRE solutions (monitoring and alerting, machine learning anomaly detection, self-healing and reliability testing).
  • 2-5 years of programming skills using one or more of these languages like Java, JavaBean, Python, Groovy, shell scripting
  • System Administration experience of DevOps / Collaboration Tools.
  • Experience working in Scaled Agile Framework.

    The Enterprise DevOps Services team is looking for a Senior DevOps Technical Engineer to join the exciting world of DevOps in RBC.

  • You will be responsible for administration, development, automation, support and infrastructure maintenance of a variety of DevOps Tools such as;
  • Github, Artifactory, NexusRepo &IQ, Jira, Confluence, Jira Service Desk on Linux servers and DevOps pipeline. You will be involved in all aspects of the development / operations and upgrade of DevOps tools including technical assessment, brainstorming with partners in largely Agile environment and providing the best possible solution.
