Join the BC Parks Team as a summer Student Ranger Crew Member
The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy / BC Parks has created the 2020 BC Parks Student Ranger Program to promote outdoor youth employment opportunities across the province.
For the 2020 season, the BC Parks Student Ranger Program will see 48 students employed in BC Parks across the province from May to August.
Eligible candidates for the 2020 season are Canadian Citizens, between the ages of 18 and 30, that have been enrolled in full-time studies (secondary or post-secondary) within the last 6-months.
BC Parks encourages students from Indigenous backgrounds to apply for these positions.
Twelve crews will be recruited, hired and employed by BC Parks across the province. Locations for crews during the 2020 season include : Victoria (Goldstream Provincial Park Office), Black Creek (Miracle Beach Provincial Park Office) OR Tlell, Haida Gwaii*, Maple Ridge (Golden Ears Provincial Park Office), Sechelt (Porpoise Bay Provincial Park Office), Penticton, Nelson, Kamloops, Williams Lake, Smithers, Terrace, Fort St John and Prince George.

What to expect :
Being a Student Ranger is a great opportunity to work outside for the summer, learn new skills, meet new people and be engaged in rewarding work.
Being a Student Ranger provides youth with an opportunity to live and work in beautiful places of British Columba.
Each crew will consist of 1 Crew Lead and 3 Crew Members. Each regional crew will work within their respective region on various BC Parks related projects.
Crew Member positions begin May 25, 2020 and run until August 29, 2020. All successful applicants will be expected to attend a Program Training event near Cultus Lake from May 25-May 30, 2020.
Details on this training will be provided at the offer of employment.
The job can be physically challenging at times, but the result of a crew’s hard work can be extremely rewarding. Crew Leads and Crew Members can expect to be out in the field nearly all working days, participating in various projects in the areas of Conservation, Recreation, Indigenous Relations and / or Public Outreach where possible.

BC Parks has the following criteria for those interested in becoming a Student Ranger Crew Member for the 2020 Season :
