Responsibilities
Act as a Subject Matter Expert in cross-functional projects, primarily IFRS 17 implementation project and Economic Capital Model update and maintenance
Function as a liaison between business units and systems or other areas of responsibility based on the projects assigned to.
Develop and maintain models supporting Economic Capital and IFRS 17
Communicate complex analyses and results to colleagues and business partners and provide recommendations
Provide required services to support the Director, Actuarial Financial Modeling (AFM) with IFRS 17 actuarial deliverables, economic capital model updates and maintenance and Financial Condition Testing (FCT) coordination
Ensure adherence to CAS and the CIA Standards of Practice
Participate in the planning and assignment of the team's tasks
Qualifications
Undergraduate degree in Actuarial Science or a relevant discipline
Minimum of 4 years Property and Casualty experience in an analytical position, preferably in corporate actuarial
ACAS / FCAS preferred
Strong knowledge of CIA Standards of Practice and regulatory requirements
Good knowledge of corporate actuarial concepts related to capital modeling and FCT
Strong communication skills and comfortable presenting to various audiences
Efficient at using Microsoft applications. ResQ / Igloo experience is an asset
Ability to adapt and utilize new ideas, techniques and opportunities for improving effectiveness, performance, and productivity
