Your Opportunity
One of our many activities in our geotechnical group is the design and modeling covering the life cycle of mine tailings and tailings dikes of our mining clients across Quebec and Canada.
Due to growth in the department, we are looking for an intermediate geotechnical engineer who will provide solutions for different customers, and for different phases of the projects, from design, construction, maintenance to closure and mine rehabilitation.
Your responsibilities
Modeling, design and evaluation of the different options, considering new methods while respecting project specifications.
Prepare & write technical reports, offering clear, precise and refined solutions
Interface and consultation as needed with geochemists, hydrogeologists, hydrotechnical engineers, mining engineers, or biologists
Inspections of sites throughout Quebec (often) and elsewhere in Canada (occasionally)
Your background
Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering or Geological Engineering
5 to 10 years of geotechnical engineering with solid field experience related to tailings, mine development and mine closures.
Experience with Geostudio (slope / w, seep / w, vadose / w, sigma / w), settle3d or other geotechnical models. Working knowledge of geochemistry, hydrogeology, dam safety and water management would be an asset.
Bilingual English and French is an asset
Flexibility to travel approx. 20% of on-site time for inspections, drilling samples and customer visits
Member of the OIQ or able to become one
Ability to work in a dynamic environment and adapt quickly as projects change
Willingness to strengthen and make safer mining sites and their communities.
What we offer
