POSTING NUMBER : 103418 S AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY : is responsible for preventative and corrective maintenance of building systems equipment at assigned facilities and Inspect, operate, maintain and repair building systems equipment including but not limited to heating boilers, chillers, cooling towers, HVAC equipment, cold and hot water systems, pumps, generators, uninterruptible power supplies, Fire and life safety systems, etc.

and ensure all equipment are operated in a safe and efficient manner and in compliance with all applicable government codes and regulations.

Perform daily rounds and record readings of all building systems (equipment) in a timely manner. Use computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to administer preventive and demand maintenance tasks.

  • Utilize Building Automation System (BAS) to monitor / control building systems equipment, respond to alarms and take appropriate action to reset alarm condition Responds to internal and external customer inquiries and requests Procures services and material;
  • Supervises work performed by contractors, including site visits for quotes and tenders; Ensure proper records are kept for maintenance and service on all assets;
  • Monitors and maintains records of invoices for warranty and budget purpose; Performs plumbing repairs and maintenance; Maintains and repairs fuel dispensing equipment;
  • Perform snow clearing duties and checks, as required Performs regular inspection of safety equipment including fire alarm and sprinkler systems.

  • Performs additional similar and related duties as assigned. SELECTION CRITERIA : High School (Grade 12) graduation or equivalent Building Environmental Studies class 1 / class2 certification, Operating Engineer certification class 4, Certification of Millwright Trade Qualification, Licensed HVAC Technician, Engineering Technologist or related college diploma / degree / certification;
  • Over two (2) years, up to and including four (4) years experience in building maintenance. Ability to work all shifts including weekends for a 24 / 7 building operations team across all city facilities as assigned Exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with an emphasis on customer service.

    Ability to work independently or as part of a team. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
