TEMPORARY FULL-TIME 6 months
The RECEPTIONIST performs a number of clerical activities and functions including and not limited to : greeting and directing patients and visitors;
answering, screening and directing telephone calls; maintaining departmental lists and room booking schedules; ordering and maintaining departmental supplies for fax machines, printers, copiers, scanners etc.
ensuring the efficient operation of the department; performing clerical support functions including : word-processing / typing routine correspondence, etc.
photocopying; sorting and distributing mail, etc.; providing FAX services; performing cross-functional responsibilities, and other duties consistent with the job classification, as required.
Completion of Grade XII or recognized equivalent
Three (3) months related experience
Previous on-the-job word-processing experience
Excellent telephone, interpersonal and customer service skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
A self-starter with excellent organizational, time management and prioritization skills
Must have keyboarding and computer skills
Ability to work effectively under pressure
Ability to use good judgment in assessing difficult situations
Ability to work independently and interdependently as a member of a Health care Team
Ability to work with attention to detail and accuracy
Knowledge of general office practices, procedures and standards
Experience in a Microsoft Office software environment preferred
Experience working in a health care environment preferred
Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
