The Director of Development and Initiatives reports directly into the VP, Internal Audit for Strategy, Planning and Operations (SP&O), and will work closely with regional Chief Internal Auditors and experts in Methodology and Standards, to design, deliver and measure the success of technical training and initiatives for Internal Audit.
Designs and facilitates the global training strategy to meet leading industry practice, standards, regulatory guidance and builds on feedback from Quality Assurance and Improvement Program (QAIP).
Partnering with subject matter experts, communicates new / revised standards and training for all global audit staff and determines measures to ensure there is an understanding of the application of the methodology.
Facilitates innovative audit training program globally and arranges for guest speakers and subject matter experts.
Supports the documentation, collection and analysis of key performance indicators, including balanced scorecard and recommends initiatives to improve performance.
Leadership role in the global Audit SP&O team in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives.
Providing coaching, mentoring and elevating the development of team members globally.
Identify opportunities to maximize Internal Audit practice. Look beyond the everyday business for new ways of working.
Drive towards the function’s vision and goals.
Qualifications and Competencies :
You have 8-10 years working in financial services or corporate setting in audit.
Experience in professional practice within audit firm / function is a definite asset.
Formal training / certification in IIA standards
Knowledge of applicable regulations and industry best practices in Internal Audit methodology.
You have previous experience in implementing programs that increase the capabilities and performance of team members, including measuring the return on investment.
Previous experience working in adult education, learning and development is preferred leveraging case studies and hands on applicable experience in audit.
Excellent presence and facilitation skills is critical and the ability implement effective programs.
Proven ability to build effective business relationships and work collaboratively with other functional areas.
Knowledge of agile and other project management methodologies, audit software tools (Teammate, Open Pages, etc)
