In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, additional staffing is required to support the fight against COVID-19, while continuing to provide the best possible health care services.
The Summer Student, Immunizer will provide immunizations at the supersite location within Prairie Mountain Health.
RESPONSIBILITIES : Overview :
Draws up and administers vaccines
Ensures cold chain of vaccine is maintained
Monitors for reactions post-immunization and manages any adverse effects following immunization as required
Follows informed consent process
Complies with workplace safety procedures
Follows PPE policies and procedures
Physically capable of carrying out clinical skills such as immunization
Physically able to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 15 lbs. or 6.8 kg
Other duties as assigned.
Full-time post-secondary student, legally entitled to work in Canada and intending to return to their studies in the fall.
Completion of the third year of a Bachelor of Nursing Program, or third year of a Bachelor of Psychiatric Nursing Program and completed immunization portion of curriculum
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Training
Proficiency with Microsoft programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint), as well as Internet applications and other Information
Demonstrated organizational skills, and the ability to work independently
