Reports to : Quality Manager

Position Type : Permanent, Full Time

Summary :

As the QA Test Technician, you are responsible for incoming goods verification to ensure they meet stringent specifications.

You are responsible for testing components for incoming quality, executing test plans, troubleshooting, and analyzing root cause for non-conformance, following up with suppliers on corrective action, and determining variability of incoming quality from batch to batch using statistical analysis

Responsibilities :

  • Coordinate and execute product and sub-components testing to ensure incoming parts meet technical specification defined.
  • Develop and manage data analysis of product quality trends.
  • Manage incoming reliability issues and provide feedback to supplier for corrective action.
  • Evaluate customer returns and execute test procedure to verify warranty claims.
  • Engage with vendors and engineers on quality initiatives.
  • Maintain 5’s in designate area
  • Ensure all test equipment used for inspection are calibrated.
  • Initiate SR report for products that failed Quality Inspection and facilitate the return of RMA units.
  • Prepare Test reports and Certificate of Compliance when required.
  • Perform and follow equipment maintenance schedule on test chambers and update maintenance log.
  • Follow inspection plan as scheduled.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
  • Educational and Experience Requirements :

  • Experienced with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), ISO standards.
  • Post-graduate training in Electronics Engineering Technology. Electrical, electronic, or mechanical engineering degree an asset.
  • 2+ years’ experience in a Quality role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience using an ERP / MRP system in a manufacturing environment, preferably Microsoft Dynamics.
  • The following will be considered assets :

  • Understanding Lean manufacturing principles.
  • Understanding statistical analysis method or statistical process control.
  • Experience with RF electronics and understanding of related specifications.
  • Experience in assembling, testing and manufacturing satellite or microwave products.
  • Personal Attributes :

  • Excellent MS Office computer skills - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong team player with excellent problem and conflict solving skills; resourceful and proactive.
  • Commitment to product quality and delivery deadlines based on cost and time constraints.
  • Able to both train and learn from others.
  • Enthusiastic, energetic, positive working attitude.

  • Exemplary organization and time management skills; excellent multitasking ability.
  • Able to work overtime occasionally.
  • Strong ethics and values.
