Project / Job Description : Move to managed services provider for EDI. Over the next year, the technical EDI resources will be leaving the company and an MSP will manage EDI for our client.

This role is 90% vendor / account management and 10% technical EDI work.

MUST HAVE SKILLS : Business Analysis, experience with managed services provider, some technical acumen with EDI, understanding of manufacturing OR order to cash processes

  • Job Summary

    Note : This job is only 10% technical thus you don’t need to be able to do all these technical things yourself, just work with the MSP to do them.

    The B2B EDI Business Analyst will be the main point of contact for trading partner onboarding, support, and will be responsible for providing functional and technical B2B, EDI services VMI setups and Customer portals for implementation projects .

    He / she will have responsibility for project and / or problem analysis, as well as for identification, implementation, testing, deployment and documentation of the trading partners .

    The incumbent will work both independently and with other IT departments to configure systems and ensure that the outsourced trading partners develop translator maps to facilitate the electronic transmission of sales and purchasing transactions.

    Finally, he / she will monitor 3rd party SaaS solution productivity , project, on-time management and vendor relations, in addition to support the existing integrations in a team environment.

    Principal Responsibilities

  • Act as the main point of contact with the sales and customer services team with all B2B / EDI requests, escalations. Construct and maintaining strong business relationships with our internal and external business partners.
  • Interact with new or existing trading partners to capture and analyze requirements .
  • Evaluate user requests for new or modified computer program to determine time required and plans.
  • Work with 3rd party vendors EDI / GDSN / Customer portals in administrator capacity , assigns and directs the activities of the 3rd party SaaS EDI team involving design, development and systems analysis, mapping, testing and data communication configuration with trading partners.
  • Ensures team completes projects within budget and on time.

  • Manage EDI-related business support responsibilities, which include production monitoring, file maintenance, ad hoc reporting, and consultation with internal and external users.
  • Direct maintenance of Global Data Synchronization Network (GDSN) interfaces for publishing item attribute data to trading partners using GS1 standards.
  • Manages trading partner access to Pilot item publications.

  • Configure communications for EDI transmissions including but not limited to : AS2, SFTP and VAN setups.
  • Update and maintain account information in company databases (CRM).
  • Provide on-going training and technical support to internal associates
  • Impact and analysis for future improvements, maintain a leadership role in setting service direction.
  • Troubleshoot and coordinate efficient resolutions and evaluation for errors and issues found internally, or by business departments.
  • Key Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Certifications in one or more of the following disciplines are considered an asset : Business analysis, Project Management, ITIL.
  • 5-8 years of progressive experience with EDI relationships.
  • At least 3-5 years of managerial experience in EDI strategic planning and daily operations.
  • Solid understanding of the key business data and transactional process flows used in procure-to-pay function and order-to-cash process .
  • Written and verbal communications skills including English grammar with the ability to effectively communicate across all levels of the organization.
  • Knowledge of EDI Translator software, Proven hands on experience with EDI transaction and messaging structures including ANSI X12, XML and flat files.
  • Familiarity with SaaS administration such as IBM, Opentext, TIE Kinetix is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite such as Excel, PowerPoint and other computer related systems.
  • Systems proficiency in SAP , an asset.
  • Motivated, innovative and a self-starter able to work independently, and with a group to achieve program goals in a fast-paced fluid culture.
  • Proven success in developing and maintaining effective business relationships .

  • Interview Process : Telephonic screening with me, followed by telephonic interview with the client. Final rounds are 2 video interviews with senior level executives.
