Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the HR Generalist is responsible for a wide range of tasks including : Employee Relations, Training & Development, Full Cycle Recruitment, WSIB Claims Management, Performance Management, Compensation, and Benefits.
Collaborate with other HR team members and contribute to the continued improvement of HR programs, processes, and planning within the company
Be up-to-date on employment laws and regulations, as well as other legal requirements regarding people management, to help leaders ensure compliance and update / draft company policies accordingly
Implement reward and recognition interventions to increase bottom-line results and employee engagement
Work together with management and personnel to solve conflicts and help facilitate positive employee relations, maintain a good working environment, build morale, and decrease unwanted turnover
Participate in promoting and enforcing health and safety initiatives and legislation
WSIB claims management and attend JHSC meetings and be involved with health and safety audits
Process all new hires, terminations, transfers, promotions, leaves of absence, and existing employee changes related to payroll.
Facilitate the onboarding process for new employees
Conduct workplace investigations
Implement and support HR programs. Programs include performance management, talent management, employee development, diversity, inclusion, employee wellness, etc.
Responsible for the quality and responsiveness of the overall delivery of all HR services
Use creative problem-solving skills to address business needs that are often time-sensitive
Minimum 3 5 years’ experience as Human Resources Generalist
Knowledge and practical experience with employment legislation e.g. Employment Standards, Occupational Health and Safety, and WSIB
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
Strong interpersonal, time management, communication, and conflict resolution skills to deal effectively with multiple stakeholders
College or university degree in business, human resources, or related field.
CHRP designation is an asset
