The Regional Transportation Market Leader is responsible for the performance and growth of the market across the region, ensuring GHD is ahead of client and market trends.
Regional Market Leaders will coordinate with National Market Leaders, Business Group Leaders, Client Relationship Managers, Service Line Leaders, and other leaders within the business.
Responsibilities of the Regional Transportation Market Leader will include :
Develop and implement Regional Transportation Market Business Plan
Ensure a coordinated approach to maintaining client management systems, capturing regular contact and meetings with key clients.
Identifying and winning key clients and establish cost of retention
Promote relationships with existing and potential clients in Region. Increase business by improving client relationships and strengthening repeat business.
Expand client base by promoting GHD’s services proactively
Design and Execution of a strategy to increase GHDs market share of private & public sector clients across the Region
Corporate business development relating to the Transportation Market, promoting growth and sustainable profitability
Collaborate with other Market Sector Leaders to position and win multidisciplinary projects within the Region
Represents and promotes GHD at networking events, professional and industrial associations, society meetings, conferences, and tradeshows
Technical leadership on projects as required and direction and input on major tenders / bids or proactive client proposals
Identify areas of practice within Region, based on client feedback or market trends (service lines) that require enhancement to meet present or future opportunities
Seamless collaboration to ensure services provided by Project Managers enhance GHD’s relationship with clients in Region
Develop and mentor people within the Regional Market Sector, including Client Relationship Managers, Regional Business Development Leaders, Project Directors and Project Managers.
Ensure team has the materials and resources necessary to deliver quality service
Act as Project Director on appropriate projects
Attracts strategic hires for the Market to develop the business within the Region
Sustainable growth of Regional Transportation Market Sector revenue
Manage and mitigate risks within the Regional Transportation Market
Assist and at times lead major projects to ensure delivery outcomes for Region as directed by the Western Canadian General Manager
Improve tender success rates and Market income
Effective management of any designated budgets
Actively participates in the integrated approach to market for all GHD services. Liaise with the respective Operational leaders and Technical Leaders and collaborate with the Centers of Excellence
Skills, Competencies and Qualifications :
Professional Engineer designation in BC and AB
Minimum of 15 years’ experience leading transportation teams in western Canada
Post-graduate degree and / or PMP designations are assets
Experience with corporate strategic planning initiatives and a demonstrated ability to develop and implement successful strategies
Demonstrated considerable understanding of the overall Transportation Market in western Canada and more broadly in North America, including future influences and trends
Outstanding interpersonal communication skills (both oral and written), with the ability to interact effectively within all levels of the organization in a collaborative fashion
Demonstrated leadership capabilities in the areas of personnel management, decision making, change management, employee development, performance management, and team building skills
Strong business acumen and commercial skills
Agile self-starter with a proactive, strategic, and creative approach
Exceptional client engagement and relationship skills
Experience managing multiple tasks while maintaining a high degree of attention to detail in a demanding consulting environment
Ability to work under pressure, meet required deadlines, and manage and organize processes and procedures
Excellent writing and verbal communication is required.
Willingness and ability to travel
Valid driver's license (an MVR check will be performed prior to hire)
