This role sits within Laurentian Bank Securities, a subsidiary of Laurentian Bank Financial Group.
We are an integrated full-service bank owned investment dealer, with multiple lines of business including fixed income, retail brokerage, foreign exchange, corporate lending and equities.
Our institutional equity group, focused on small-to-mid capitalization companies, provides a full suite of services to our clients including research, trading and investment banking.
Our mission is to find new early-stage investment ideas that generate higher financial returns for our institutional clients.
To support our expanding operations, we are looking for a Real Estate Equity Research Analyst to add to our research team to broaden our growing coverage universe
ºBuilding, forecasting and maintaining a financial model for companies under coverage.
ºConduct fundamental research on capital markets and / or individual equities, including recommendation and valuation.
ºDevelop research to support high-level investment themes.
ºActively support and participate in local investment meetings and in general analytical discussions.
ºWhere necessary, mentor / supervise junior team members to oversee their progression.
ºPrepare and present investment ideas, on a frequent basis, to the sales and trading team and our institutional clients.
ºBe active in business development, cultivating relationships with both corporate and institutional clients.
ºBachelor's degree required; or equivalent combination of education / experience.
ºCFA and / or business degrees (BBA / MBA) preferred.
ºMinimum 2-3 years Equity Research experience.
ºExperience in economic and financial analyses.
ºExcellent presentation and written communication skills.
ºStrong quantitative, statistical, and analytical thinking skills.
ºAbility to work in a team environment.
ºSelf-motivated individual who thrives working in a fast-paced environment; strong multi-tasking skills required.
ºExperience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, formulas, pivots, and macros, and business applications such as Bloomberg, CapitalIQ, Factset and Eikon.
ºFluent English (spoken and written).
