Reporting to the VP & GM of Canada, the Sr. Director of Manufacturing Operations is responsible for driving operational excellence and maximizing organizational growth and profitability through leadership of the Canadian window, door, and distribution operations.
As a member of JELD-WEN’s Canadian Leadership Team, the incumbent will be required to :
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Provide visible leadership in all facilities and model the company’s vision and values across manufacturing facilities;
ensure alignment to division goals and priorities.
Reset culture of safety and deploy programs to ensure that each facility develops and is implementing a strategy to achieve world class safety levels.
Lead JEM (JELD-WEN Excellence Model) implementation across the Canadian business, to include a JEM roadmap for every facility as well as leadership of transactional front and back-office events across the business.
Conduct rigorous organizational structure and talent review of the operations teams; develop and implement development plans as needed to build world class talent across the business
Develop and deploy strategy for capital investments and improvement projects.
Collaborate with Product Management and R&D to deliver NPD plans in support of annual and strategic plans
Lead cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment to achieve critical business objectives. Cross functional collaboration includes, but is not limited to : Engineering, R&D, Risk, Supply Chain, Finance, Customer Care / Service, Sales and Marketing
Develop and deploy appropriate business processes in support of JELD-WEN Canada’s strategic vision (e.g. Strategy Deployment, etc.)
Minimum of 10 years senior business and operations leadership experience within manufacturing
Experience directly managing a +$50M P&L
Experience at a company known for rigor in operations / supply chain management, ideally a company known for lean manufacturing / operational excellence and that manages through policy deployment (e.
g., Toyota Production System, Danaher Business System, etc.).
Balance of operations (manufacturing, supply chain, SIOP) and commercial (marketing, sales, product management, growth) experience, ideally having directly managed these functions on the route up to general management.
Track record of implementation and execution utilizing Lean and Continuous Improvement concepts and strategies (e.g. SIOP, Value Stream Organizational Structures, etc.)
Comfortable driving growth through a product management structure in a fast paced, growth oriented business; proven track record of delivering results.
Undergraduate university degree required. Engineering degree preferred. MBA preferred.
Ability to travel, 50% travel required.
