Some of what you will do

As the Senior Analyst - Accounting, you will provide timely and accurate financial information to the management team, prepare monthly financial package, perform monthly account reconciliations and various other month-end and year-end closing activities.

You will work closely with our shared service customers and other functional groups to gather their inputs and provide support.

Each day will being fast-paced, challenging, rewarding and meaningful.

Specifically, you will :

Perform month-end and year-end closing activities, including the preparation and review of journal entries and account reconciliations

Perform monthly account analyses such as retail store P&Ls, salaries and benefits, corporate expenses and intercompany transactions

Resolve issues related to account reconciliations and analyses by working with the various departments (i.e. HR, Legal, Merchandising, Retail Operations, Real Estate, etc.)

Assist in the preparation of the financial package for management

Prepare input tax credit filings and PST self-assessments

Provide support as required to store management and Home Office departments to address their inquiries

Work closely with our shared service customers to gather their inputs and provide support

Provide information as required by government agencies in regard to input tax credit filings and PST self-assessments

Participate in projects for upgrade rollouts and system implementation(s), including requirements gathering, user acceptance testing, etc.

Qualifications

Some of what you need

Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience supporting multiple companies and / or business units

Supervisory experience is an asset

University business degree with a focus in accounting or equivalent work experience

CPA designation

Strong knowledge of financial reporting

Strong knowledge and understanding of financial systems. Experience with Oracle is an asset

Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment

Ability to manage competing priorities accordingly
