Some of what you will do

As the Senior Analyst - Accounting, you will provide timely and accurate financial information to the management team, prepare monthly financial package, perform monthly account reconciliations and various other month-end and year-end closing activities.

You will work closely with our shared service customers and other functional groups to gather their inputs and provide support.

Each day will being fast-paced, challenging, rewarding and meaningful.

Specifically, you will :

  • Perform month-end and year-end closing activities, including the preparation and review of journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Perform monthly account analyses such as retail store P&Ls, salaries and benefits, corporate expenses and intercompany transactions
  • Resolve issues related to account reconciliations and analyses by working with the various departments (i.e. HR, Legal, Merchandising, Retail Operations, Real Estate, etc.)
  • Assist in the preparation of the financial package for management
  • Prepare input tax credit filings and PST self-assessments
  • Provide support as required to store management and Home Office departments to address their inquiries
  • Work closely with our shared service customers to gather their inputs and provide support
  • Provide information as required by government agencies in regard to input tax credit filings and PST self-assessments
  • Participate in projects for upgrade rollouts and system implementation(s), including requirements gathering, user acceptance testing, etc.
  • Qualifications

    Some of what you need

  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience supporting multiple companies and / or business units
  • Supervisory experience is an asset
  • University business degree with a focus in accounting or equivalent work experience
  • CPA designation
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of financial systems. Experience with Oracle is an asset
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to manage competing priorities accordingly
